The West Salem Business Association sees value in providing free entertainment for the entire family.

The Classic Rock All Stars performed to a crowd of approximately 2,200 at West Fest August 10, 2007, West Salem’s biggest community event. West Fest is organized by the West Salem Business Association (WSBA) marking its third year at the Wallace Marine Sports Complex.

The Classic Rock All Stars consist of original lead singers, songwriters and musicians from some of the great bands of the 1970s. Drummer/singer Peter Rivera was the leader of Rare Earth “Get Ready”, “I Just Want to Celebrate”, “Losin’ You”. Jerry Corbetta plays keyboards and was the voice on megahits “Green Eyed Lady” and “Don’t Call Us, We’ll Call You” as the front man for Sugarloaf . Mike Pinera plays lead guitar and wrote/sang “Ride Captain Ride” as a member of the Blues Image . He later joined Iron Butterfly and performed the cult classic “Inna Gadda Da Vida.” Rounding out the foursome is Dennis Noda, the bass player from the one-hit-wonder band Cannibal and The Headhunters and their hit song: ” Land of a Thousand Dances.”

West Fest 2008 will take place in early August and will include another 1970s classic rock band.
